Project Do Stuf is done... sort of.

Thanks to everyone that tuned in for the past month. I set out to do one big creative project each weekday for a month, and I managed to follow through! I hope you were inspired along the way to do your own creative projects.

I will still use the blog to post new projects, I don't plan on stopping any time soon! I have way too many ideas that have popped up over the last month. My creative juices just got a huge boost.

Now I need you to get the word out about what I do. I can be contacted for any kind of project that needs photography, video, music, or sound. Thanks for helping out!

Project Do Stuf Day 20: Mirror Dance video!

Friday was technically my last day of Project Do Stuf, though I'll be continuing on over the summer, so stay tuned!

We went to Fort Langley with The Dance Barn's Mirror Dance group, and the danced to Zoe Keating's incredible song Optimist.

Thanks for the opportunity to do this Sandy, I enjoyed every minute of shooting it!

Project Do Stuf Day 19: Wayfaring Stranger

Today was a very long day, but so fun! Arbi Susi came over this morning and we put down vocals for this tune, I then got Darryl Klassen to come over and play banjo. I then put the rest of the elements down and mixed it up. 12 hours in total for this one!

Please pass on what I am doing here, my livlihood depends on you you guys telling others about the things I do. I also hope this is inspiring others to create on their own. It's so much better than sittin around!

Thanks Arby for your incredible vocals, it was wonderful to meet you! And Daryl, thanks again for your sweet banjo licks!!

Project Do Stuf Day 18: Tobi Crawford song

My best pal fo' life, Tobi Crawford came out today to lay down a sweet jazz standard. We used to do this a lot more back in the day, but she's busy with her amazing card making, and her music teaching at Walnut Grove Secondary.

She is hands down one of the best musicians I've ever known, and I'm so honoured to be her friend. She's had such an influence on me over the last 15 years, and I know I wouldn't be where I am without her in my life. You're a great friend Tobi!

Project Do Stuf Day 16: After a horrible weekend of dealing with my beautiful dog Kyra's passing, I'm finding it very hard to create. We did pull it together though, and the family and I are working on a small video to promote what I do. The filming is done, and the editing/ post will be done tomorrow. I'll post it once it's ready. Thanks for all of the encouragement, we're never going to forget our amazing first "child" Kyra.

Project Do Stuf Day 15: Seniors Care Home Shoot

Today I went back to the old care home that my amazing grandfather was at for 5 years. I brought my dad and my wife with me, and we got to shoot 17 sets of seniors. Some had their family members, others were by themselves. There was even one with 4 generations in the shot! It was an emotional day, but a very special one.

The photos were done for the families, not for the site. We did get permission to post this one.

I hope this inspires you to go love on your grandparents!

Project Do Stuf Day 14: We Make Stuff Jingle

Today was a lot of fun. Anna Vandas came over and the two of us wrote and recorded 2 super tiny jingles for We Make Stuff. We Make Stuff is a big project that Anna's husband David Vandas is heading up that features all sorts of creative artists in all forms of art. Check them out!

Here is the jingle that we all decided was best. Anna, Tim Runzer and I will be working on a children's album in the near future, so check back for updates on that project!

Project Do Stuf Day 13: Editing the Shylo Shoot

Today was a long day of editing, but it was worth it! I had 500 shots of Shylo, and about 3% of them weren't keepers!!! It was very tough to choose my favourites.

Project Do Stuf Day 12: Shylo Photo Shoot

Today was one of those incredible days where everything just works! (unlike yesterday where I almost tossed my 5D MKII into a river!)

First off, Justin Carlson just shows up unannounced from White Rock with a 70-200L and a 14mm L lens in response to my offhand FB remark for me to shoot with! These are not your father's lenses... unless you're... Justin's kids.

Then, Shylo and I head off to Fort Langley, the weather network couldn't have been more off, it's a perfect day for shooting!

My gear is working beautifully, and we find ourselves in the old Fort shooting some of my favourite shots. It was definitely a day to note as one where I feel like I am on the right path!

Anyhow, tomorrow is editing day, but I will give you a sneak preview of what is to come. In the meantime, check out Shylo's music page, this girl is going to go supernova very soon!!
